Cause
The public folders are being moved from one Exchange Server to another and there needs to be a seamless integration with Enterprise Vault services.
Resolution
1. Stop the Public Folder Task.
2. Replicate the public folders over to the new Exchange Server.
3. Add the new Exchange server to Vault Administration Console (VAC) under Directory on Server_name > Site_name > Targets > Exchange > Domain_name > Exchange Server if it does not already exist.
4. Create a new Exchange Public Folder task for the new target server:
a. Expand Directory on Server_name > Site_name > Enterprise Vault Servers > Server_name in the
VAC .
b. Right-click on Tasks and select New > Exchange Public Folder task.
c. Configure the task to the new Public Folder server.
5. Add the target folders to the new Exchange server target under Directory on Server_name > Site_name > Targets > Exchange > Domain_name > Exchange Server > Server_name > Public Folder (Folders should be configured to point to existing archive for that folder).
6. Once it has been confirmed that processing is occurring properly, the old Public Folder task and the targets for the old Exchange server can be deleted from the VAC. The targets must first be deleted from Directory on Server_name > Site_name > Targets > Exchange > Domain_name > Exchange Server > Server_name > Public Folder before the task can be deleted.
