Overview:
The error above occurs when retrieving archived messages and a proxy server is configured via Internet Explorer (IE). Enterprise Vault (EV) is built using web based architecture, which requires communication via Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTP). Clients must be configured to bypass the proxy when accessing the Vault server. This will ensure requests to the Vault server do not go through the proxy.
Solution:
On the affected computers:
1. Open Internet Options within the Control Panel.
2. Click the Security tab, click Local intranet, click Sites and click Advanced.
3. Add the vault server name and any server aliases, including fully qualified domain names to the Local intranet zone.
