Cause
CA and DA use specific references to know about when EV was installed and the date of the oldest archived item when looking for search results. Without that data, the same search criteria used multiple times can return different results.
Resolution
To prevent the inconsistencies the following Configuration Settings must be set:
1. Launch the CA or DA Client with an account that has permissions to view and edit the system configuration settings. The Vault Service Account (VSA) usually has these permissions.
2. Go to the Configuration tab and then the Settings sub-tab to expand the System section.
3. Edit the following settings to add a date that is equal to or older than the oldest archived item date in the Enterprise Vault (EV) archives (for example January 1, 1999):
- Enterprise Vault Oldest Archived Item Date
- Enterprise Vault V5 Installation Date
4. Click on Save at the bottom of the page.
5. Re-run the affected Searches.
Issue/Introduction
When performing Discovery Accelerator (DA) or Compliance Accelerator (CA) Searches that do not specify a specific Date Range, Searches may return inconsistent results.
For example, using the Date Range option buttons: Today; Yesterday; Last 7 Days; Last 14 Days; Last 28 Days or selecting Specific date range and leaving the values blank.
