The archive cannot be deleted because it is being moved

Cause

The affected archive has been tried to Move using Move Archive process, which was not completed. In such scenario, archive will not get deleted.

Resolution

In order to delete affected archive, perform following on Enterprise Vault (EV) Server.

1. Right click on Archives >> Click Move Archive Status.

2. Select the archive and then click on Delete (X) button to delete the archive from the move archive status.
3. Expand the Archives >> Click on Exchange Mailbox >> Right Click on Archive and then click Delete.

4. Click Yes and the archive will be Marked for deletion.
5. Restart the Enterprise Vault (EV) Storage Service.

Note: Sometimes the delete (X) button is not available to delete. In such a scenario, contact Veritas Technical Support to know the alternate method.

 

 

Issue/Introduction

While deleting an Archive from Enterprise Vault Admin Console (VAC), process fails with following on screen error.
"The Archive cannot be deleted because it is moved by <UserName>"
