[#41057] Content processor error - com.teneo.esa.imaging.ImagingRetrievalException: [#670200] "Imaging failed: Unable to resolve document source files for DocPartID '0.7.1547.5004:BODY:'."
For Clustered Environments
The esa.retriever.validate_hash is a "private" property, so it does not get replicated across the nodes from the master. This particular property needs to be on all nodes, so it must be added manually prior to cluster restart.
Cause
The source content hash value has changed since the data was processed. This issue is a result of the upgrade process installing Microsoft Office 2013. Outlook 2010 and Outlook 2013 produce different weak checksums on the same file/message and can be associated to the hash check fail.
Resolution
A workaround is to skip the hash check at the system level. To allow the export of these documents without hash checking follow the procedure below.
Warning: This change bypasses the check that the data being exported still matches the original data imported when performing an export.
- Log in to Veritas Clearwell eDiscovery as a user with System Administrator privileges
- Click SYSTEM
- Click SUPPORT FEATURES
- Select PROPERTY BROWSER from the Choose a Support Feature
- Select SYSTEM from the Select the case (or system)
- Enter the following value in the field Pattern to match
- esa.retriever.validate_hash
- Click SUBMIT
- The system may display the following if the property has been set previously:
- esa.retriever.validate_hash = true
If the property has NOT been set before the result will be as follows:
No property name matched the pattern specified: esa.retriever.validate_hash
- Enter the following value in the field “Name of property to change” - esa.retriever.validate_hash
- Enter the following value in “New value (leave blank to remove)” – false
- Place a check on the checkbox for “Confirm change. Are you sure?”
- Click SUBMIT
- Check to make sure the new value of esa.retriever.validate_hash is displayed below

- Stop and restart Clearwell Services
- Review an affected item and the MD5 hash check will be ignored, allowing the item to display.
Warning: It is highly recommended that once the review of the affected cases is complete, the property is removed or reset to “true” for all newly processed items have their content hash checked.
Issue/Introduction
Since upgrading to 8.1, from an earlier version, the following error is displayed when attempting to review items.
