If using the EVDominoRetentionPlans.exe make sure all provisioning groups to be used in the XML file have names less than 32 characters long
In the VAC it is possible to create provisioning groups with names up to 256 characters long but the EVDominoRetentionPlans.exe returns an error because of internal 32 character limit.
Enterprise Vault has acknowledged that the above-mentioned issue is present in the version(s) of the product(s).
There are currently no plans to address this issue by way of a cumulative hotfix or service pack in the current or previous versions of the software at the present time. This issue may be resolved in a future major revision of the software at a later time, but is not scheduled for any release. Provisioning group names can be up to 256 characters when created in the Vault Admin Console (VAC) but the EVDominoRetentionPlans.exe has a limit of 32 characters. Provisioning groups that have names longer than 32 characters can not be used in an XML file to be used by EVDominoRetentionPlans.exe program.
