Description:
The Exchange mailbox provisioning task failed to read required information from Active Directory. The task has stopped. Ensure that the Active Directory server is operational and the account the task is using to log on has read access to the required objects. Then run the task again.
Task: Exchange Provisioning Task for EV1.evlab.org
Domain: EV1.evlab.org
Provisioning group: Exec Provisioning Group
Group member: EXEC1
AD server: GC://GCDC12.EV1.evlab.org
Error: The server is not operational.
Cause
This can occur under two scenarios:
- The Global Catalog server used in the LDAP Query is not available
- A user account/group is specified that does not exist or the domain is incorrect (Ie, account is in a different domain)
Resolution
To correct this error, it is necessary to verify the LDAP Query being used for the Provisioning Group targets.
1. Open the Vault Administration Console
2. Expand Targets | Exchange | %domain% | Exchange Server | Provisioning Group
3. On the right pane, open the properties of the Provisioning Group that is referenced in the Event
4. Choose the Targets tab
5. Select the Target from the list and choose Edit
Note: For scenario 2, remove the incorrect target that is mentioned in the event under "Group member"
6. Examine the GC specified in the Query Root field and modify as needed
7. Save the change
8. Restart the Provisioning Task and allow it to complete the run indicated by Event ID 41104
Issue/Introduction
The error below is logged in the Enterprise Vault (EV) event logs during a run of the Provisioning Task
