Export of archive 'Archive Name' failed.
Reason: The parameter is incorrect.

Cause

In this scenario, the Exchange mailbox was migrated from an Exchange On-Premises server to the cloud (Microsoft Office 365) prior to exporting the archive content back to the original mailbox; then, the mailbox is migrated back to the Exchange On-Premises server.

As result, the information stored in the Enterprise Vault hidden message is out-of-sync with the Enterprise Vault mailbox information in the Enterprise Vault Directory database.

Resolution

Follow these steps to resolve this issue:
  1. Run the Enterprise Vault Provisioning Task.
  2. Open the Exchange Provisioning Task report and confirm the mailbox was linked to the previous entry: "Mailbox linked to previous entry 'MailboxDistinguishedName'.
  3. Synchronize the mailbox using the Enterprise Vault Exchange Mailbox Archiving Task.
  4. Confirm that the mailbox can be synchronized.
  5. Export the archive back to the original mailbox.

Issue/Introduction

Using the Export Archive wizard fails with the error message "The parameter is incorrect" when "Export archives to their original mailboxes" is selected.
