Cause
This message indicates that eDP is having trouble communicating with the EV Indexing Service.
There are several environmental issues that can cause this issue.
The problem could be the service is not running, the Indexing Service is too busy to handle the external requests, indexes are not accessible, or the index search for a single archive is taking over two hours to complete.
Resolution
If EV Indexing Services are running on the EV Indexing computer, the highest probability is one of two conditions:
1. The EV indexing service is extremely busy and will not respond to outside requests.
- Contact EV administration to determine if other activities are consuming EV resources such as Mailbox Archives or Data Migrations.
- Schedule the task to run during off-peak hours, until the EV Index Service has caught up with demand
2. Part or all drives hosting the EV Server Indexes for the archive of concern are not mounted or offline.
3. Verify UAC is disabled on the eDP server.
4. Run the same task as an EV Search task. EV Search tasks do not place a '2-hour per archive' time limit.
If the EV Search task is successful, determine the time required to complete the search and adjust the search timeout settings.
Example: esa.icp.ev.searcher.outputTimeout = 86400000 (24 hours in millseconds)
Note: Default is 7200000 (2 hours)
Issue/Introduction
eDP Enterprise Vault(EV) collection task fails to search certain EV Indexing Servers.
