Description
Error Message
The Client Access provisioning report shows the error:
Error sending notification: Server does not support secure connections
Cause
If the receiving SMTP server is not configured to use encryption, but the EV SMTP Endpoint is, the notification emails will be rejected.
Resolution
If the receiving SMTP server is not configured to use encryption, the EV SMTP Endpoint needs to have encryption disabled.
The following steps detail the process to disable encryption on the SMTP Endpoint
1. Open VAC (Vault Admin Console)
2. Expand the Site | Client Access | IMAP
3. Right click IMAP, select Properties
4. Select STMP Endpoint and choose Edit
5. Un-check Use Encrypted Connection (STARTTLS)
6. Validate the sender's email address for notifications and SMTP credentials are correct.
7. Choose OK - Apply
8. Run the Client Access Provisioning Task to ensure users receive notification and the error is no longer being logged, in the Client Access provisioning report.
Issue/Introduction
When a User is added to IMAP Provisioning Group and the Client access provisioning task is run, users do not receive notifications, and the Client Access provisioning report logs the following error:
'Error sending notification: Server does not support secure connections'
