The following additional information in the event [Event ID 0] Backup Logger Failed for reason:

The process cannot access the file 'C:\ProgramData\Symantec\Enterprise Vault\Search\LoggersTrace.txt' because it is being used by another process. at System.IO.__Error.WinIOError(Int32 errorCode, String maybeFullPath) at System.IO.FileStream.Init(String path, FileMode mode, FileAccess access, Int32 rights, Boolean useRights, FileShare share, Int32 bufferSize, FileOptions options, SECURITY_ATTRIBUTES secAttrs, String msgPath, Boolean bFromProxy, Boolean useLongPath, Boolean checkHost) at System.IO.FileStream..ctor(String path, FileMode mode, FileAccess access, FileShare share, Int32 bufferSize, FileOptions options, String msgPath, Boolean bFromProxy, Boolean useLongPath, Boolean checkHost) at System.IO.StreamWriter.CreateFile(String path, Boolean append, Boolean checkHost) at System.IO.StreamWriter..ctor(String path, Boolean append, Encoding encoding, Int32 bufferSize, Boolean checkHost) at System.IO.StreamWriter..ctor(String path, Boolean append) at System.IO.File.AppendText(String path) at Symantec.EV.Search.Infrastructure.Logger.BackupLog.WriteToLog(Exception exception) Error in logging framework is: Object reference not set to an instance of an object. at Symantec.EV.Search.Infrastructure.Logger.FileLogger.FileLogger.WriteToMessageQueue(LogEntry logEntry) I have renamed the log file, however a new log gets automatically generated with the same error         

Cause

This is due to an incorrect entry in the Web.config file for EV Search.  This file still references the event log 'Symantec Enterprise Vault', which no longer exists as it has been updated to 'Veritas Enterprise Vault'.

Resolution

This issue was resolved in Veritas Enterprise Vault 12.1.



 

Issue/Introduction

After upgrading to Enterprise Vault 12.0 the Event ID: 0 is generated every 15 minutes in the Application event log.
