Cause
The current product behaviour is working as designed and was based on feedback from customers. The major reasons for the current behaviour include the following:
- Without slip-sheets for excluded family items there would be confusing gaps in the exported file names.
Each item in a document family must be assigned a unique production number. For example, based on the current product behaviour, an image production export of an email with three attachments might generate the following exported file names: 0000001.tif, 0000002.tif, 0000003.tif, 0000004.tif. If only the first and last attachments (0000002.tif and 0000004.tif) had been included in the production, the other files (0000001.tif and 0000003.tiff) would contain the slip-sheet text "This document family member (or some of its attachments if any) has not been included in this production." Consider what would happen if the slip-sheets were not included. The exported file names would only include 0000002.tif and 0000004.tif. This could lead the recipient of the export to think that items are missing from the export due to some error.
- Including slip-sheets for excluded family items preserves any parent-child relationships between the items.
Without including slip-sheets for the other family items this information would be lost. This can be particularly important if the export is to be later imported into another downstream review product.
Resolution
You can exclude the slip-sheet that is generated for the items of the document family that are not a part of the production.
1. Select the appropriate production folder.
2. Edit (unlocked if it is locked)
3. General Tab
4. Ensure there is no checked placed in Excluded items: Generate Slip-Sheets for excluded items
5. OK (lock the folder for changes to take effect)

Issue/Introduction
If a user chooses not to include all the items of a document family in a production export, the items that are excluded will generate a slip-sheet containing the following text:
This document family member (or some of its attachments if any) has not been included in this production.
