Cause

This issue arises when there are missing files in the vault store partitions.  This can include any one of the following file types:

.DVS, .DVSCC, .DVSSP, .DVF, .CAB

Resolution

The first step is to validate which of the above files are missing.

1.  To do this, run the EVSVR Dumpsaveset tool.  This is explained in the following article:
http://www.veritas.com/docs/000040570

Note: Before running EVSVR, setup a Dtrace using the following steps:

1.  From command prompt on the EV server, browse to the \program files\enterprise vault and type DTRACE 5000000 [enter]

2. Type the letter V, {enter}

3. Scroll thru the list, and take note of the number next to the following:

EVSVR
StorageOnlineOpns

4. At the DT> prompt, type:  set 4 v  {enter}    (replace the number with the one you wrote down in step 3) repeat for each number

5. Type: log c:\DumpSaveset.txt   {enter}  (You can log this file to any location)

6. Run EVSVR as per Step 1 above. When it completes, at the  DT> prompt, type LOG and [Enter] twice to stop tracing

7. Zip the Dtrace file and EVSVR folder and open a support case for further assistance

Issue/Introduction
