This issue occurs when the data in the vault store partition is inaccessible. Below are common scenarios:

• The data in the vault store partition is missing
• The data in the vault store partition has been moved without updating the proper table in the EnterpriseVaultDirectory database
• Network issues communicating with the vault store partition

To resolve this issue for the common scenarios, follow the steps outlined. 
 

• The data in the vault store partition is missing:  Using the path in the event error, validate that the file referenced exists in the path.  If it does not, restore it from backup.  If this is not an option, open a support case for assistance with the clean up process.  

• The data in the vault store partition has been moved without updating the proper table in the EnterpriseVaultDirectory database:  To properly move data in the vault store partitions, reference the steps outlined in the following article: Refer Enterprise Vault Documentation

• Network issues communicating with the vault store partition: Address any connectivity issues that may be preventing EV from accessing the path when the path has been validated as correct. 

During the retrieval of archived content, the onscreen error will be displayed as Failed to get the document from the storage service. Additionally, the error below will be written to the Enterprise Vault (EV) event logs.
