Workaround:

One of the following workaround can be implemented to avoid outlook hang. 
  • Set EV client trace logging to ‘Information’.
  • Run Outlook in cache mode.
  • Modify search criteria within Outlook search folders thus limiting the results under 10 K. 

Resolution

Veritas Technologies LLC has acknowledged that the above-mentioned issue is present in the current version(s) listed under the Product(s) Section of this article. Veritas Technologies LLC is committed to product quality and satisfied customers.

There are currently no plans to address this issue by way of a patch or hotfix in the current or previous versions of the software at the present time. This issue may be resolved in a future major revision of the software at a later time. Issue/Introduction

Outlook unresponsiveness is observed under following conditions.
  • Outlook running in online mode.
  • EV Client trace logging is set to 'Maximum'.
  • Search folder contain EV shortcut OR combination of EV shortcut and normal emails.
Clicking on search folders renders Outlook unresponsive for 30secs to 1min when the number of items are ~25k. The duration may increase when the count of search results increase. During unresponsive state clicking anywhere inside Outlook window results in Outlook application crashing.
