When the placeholders are recalled the following error is received:
Access to was denied
In the NetApp console the following error can be found in the Syslog:
[cifs.pipe.errorMsg:error] | CIFS: Error on named pipe with : Error connecting to server, open pipe failed
[cifs.server.infoMsg:info] | CIFS: Warning for server \\: Connection terminated.
Cause
A communication issue between the NetApp filer and the EV server is preventing the fpolicy from connecting to the EV server. This could be due to a DNS, firewall, or local policy configuration.
Resolution
1. Check if the Windows Firewall is disabled. If not, ensure that the required destination ports on the EV server are open bi-directionally.
2. Add an entry to the NetApp Filer's hosts file for both the shortname and fully qualified domain name to the EV server and vice versa.
3. If placeholders still can't be recalled then the local policy settings will need to edited to allow anonymous access.
- Open the Local Security Policy on the EV server
- Expand Local Policies and select Security Options
- Select Network access: Let Everyone permissions apply to anonymous users and change the setting to Enabled.
- Select Network access: Do not allow anonymous enumeration of SAM accounts and change the setting to Disabled.
- Select Network access: Restrict anonymous access to Named Pipes and Shares and change the setting to Disabled.
- Reboot the EV server for the security modification occur
