Note:- Ensure that there is a valid backup of the registry before any changes are made.

1. On the EV server open the registry editor.
2. Press F3 to start the Find option.
3. Search for the string StorageOnlineOpns.
4. The first hit will be within HKCR\AppID\{F019A223-FF92-11D1-8C20-0000F87502DE}.
5. Right click on {F019A223-FF92-11D1-8C20-0000F87502DE} and select permissions.
6. Check for any Denies for the Vault Service Account.
7. If there is a Deny permission set then remove that Deny permission.
8. Press F3 again to bring back Find and repeat the search process.
9. Perform the same steps until the entire registry has been searched and there are no longer any Denies set.
10. Run the Command DCOMCNFG.
11. Expand Component Services - Computers - My Computer - DCOM Config.
12. Find the DCOM object StorageOnlineOpns.
13. Confirm that the options that were previously grayed out are no longer grayed out.
14. Attempt to install the EV binaries again.

Warning: Incorrect use of the Windows registry editor may prevent the operating system from functioning properly. Great care should be taken when making changes to a Windows registry. Registry modifications should only be carried-out by persons experienced in the use of the registry editor application. It is recommended that a complete backup of the registry and workstation be made prior to making any registry changes.

1. Run the command DCOMCNFG.
2. Expand Component Services - Computers - My Computer - DCOM Config.
3. Find the DCOM object StorageOnlineOpns.
4. Right click and select Properties.
5. If there is an access issue then the options will be grayed out.
