Issue/Introduction
When an email with a dot "." in the subject is archived and then restored via Enterprise Vault Search Verify and Repair tool (EVSVR), the email is incorrectly restored with the file extension of the email subject.
In the below example an email with the subject Attached-Financial_Disclosure_Form.xls is archived.
In the below example an email with the subject Attached-Financial_Disclosure_Form.xls is archived.
Using EVSVR to retrieve this email restores the item as an XLS file instead of an MSG file.
Note: Renaming the extension to MSG allows the email to open as normal.
