Some users may require to work remotely at times, but still need access to the eDiscovery server. Normally the login URL is in the format "http(s)://eDiscovery_FQDN/esa". However when working remotely, off the domain, this URL will not take the user to the eDiscovery UI login page. There are multiple options to navigate to the eDiscovery login page while not on the same domain on the Clearwell server.
Option 1:
- Open Internet Explorer on the workstation
- In the address bar, type in the public IP address of the eDiscovery server
- The login page appears and eDiscovery can be used as normal
Option 2:
- On the workstation go to the directory "C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc"
- Open the file "hosts" using notepad
- At the bottom of the document add the following "eDiscoveryServerIPAddress PreferredUnusedURL"
- Example: "192.168.10.1 www.eDiscovery.com"
- Save and close the file
- The above URL can now be used to access the eDiscovery server
Note: The above options are assuming that all firewall and other security exceptions have already been setup
