Description

In the course of working with Clearwell it may become necessary to delete cases that have Collection Sets associated with them (the case to be deleted has processed Collection Set data in it).

Can the case be safely archived or deleted?
Yes - Unless there is a specific technical problem that would prevent a case from being deleted or archived anyway, a case with associated collection sets can be archived/restored or deleted just like any other case.

What happens to the collected data when an associated case is archived or deleted?
Nothing - Data that Clearwell collects is treated like any other source data. Clearwell does not have a mechanism in place to delete Source Data. Source Data must be manually deleted from outside Clearwell.

Once the original case is archived or deleted, can the collected data be used again in another case?
Yes - Once a case with an associated/processed Collection Set is deleted or archived, the Collection Set(s) is(are) free to be processed into a new case.
