DeletionStatus has a value of 0 if the item has been soft-deleted and a value of 1 if it has been hard-deleted. Soft-deleted items are objects that have been deleted by a user and Enterprise Vault (EV) is configured to allow recovery of deleted items for X number of days at the Site level, Archive Settings tab.  Once the item has been deleted longer than this configured value, the DeletionStatus will change to 1.

DeletionReason column adopts the values below depending on the reason that caused the deletion, 

• 0 = The item hasn't been deleted yet
• 1 = User initiated deletion
• 2 = Deleted by expiry   *** Note: For Mailbox Archives only ***
• 3 = Deleted by system *** Note:  This is also the reason for Expiry deletions in a Journal archive ***
• 4 = System ingest from queue failed
• 5 = System moved to queue to reingest
• 255 or 2147483647 = Deletion reason is unknown

Enterprise Vault 12 introduced a new Classification and Retention feature. When an archived item is discarded according to an FSRM Rule, DeletionStatus will have a value of 0 (soft-deleted) since the item is marked for deletion and DeletionReason has a value of 2 for Storage Expiry. This value combination was introduced in Enterprise Vault 12.
