If Discovery Accelerator (DA) is to be uninstalled from the Environment, the first action to complete is to delete any search schedules that have been created in each DA Customer that has any scheduled search(es). The uninstall process does not delete the schedules, so, a later reinstall of Discovery Accelerator would have them displayed in the schedule list. If the name of the new Discovery Accelerator database differs from the old, these schedules generate errors if used.
To delete search schedules :
Notes:
a) No search schedule can be deleted as long as it is associated with any search. Each scheduled search in the DA Customer to be deleted must be edited to change the search schedule specified to None to allow schedule deletion to succeed.
b) An account with sufficient Application level permissions, such as the Vault Service Account, must be used to edit the scheduled searches and to delete the search schedules.
1. On the Application tab of the DA Client, click Search Schedules.
2. Click the name of the first schedule, and then click Delete .
3. Repeat Step 2 for each schedule.
4. Click Close .
To uninstall Discovery Accelerator :
1. Log onto the DA server as the Vault Service Account.
2. Use the Services snap-in to Microsoft Management Console to stop the “Enterprise Vault Accelerator Manager” service.
3. If required, make backup copies of the configuration ( .config ) files under the Discovery Accelerator program folder. Except for the license key file, all the files and subfolders in this folder are deleted when uninstalling DA. The default location for the DA installation folder on a 32-bit Windows Server machine is 'C:\Program Files\Enterprise Vault Business Accelerator'. For a 64-bit Windows Server, the default path is 'C:\Program Files (x86)\Enterprise Vault Business Accelerator'.
4. In Control Panel, open Add or Remove Programs for Windows Server 2003 or Programs for Windows Server 2008R2 or greater .
5. Choose to remove Enterprise Vault Discovery Accelerator , then follow the on-screen instructions to do so.
Notes:
1. The uninstall process does not remove the DA databases from the SQL server. If the option is chosen to not remove the databases, and later reinstall DA, specify a different database name as part of the setup process or choose to use the existing databases.
2. The uninstall process also does not remove the virtual directories created for the administration site (EVBAAdmin) or each Customer. These virtual directories should be removed using IIS Manager unless DA is to be re-installed on the same machine using the same Customer names.
6. When the removal processing has completed for DA, restart the computer.
7. If the Discovery Accelerator Client has also been installed on the DA server, it should also be uninstalled using Add or Remove Programs or Programs as appropriate. This step can be done prior to or after uninstalling DA.
