Description
The following considerations should be reviewed, tested and evaluated for production use as they may affect performance in a Cloud Platform environment.
Enterprise Vault
- Indexing and Storage should be co-located (or at least all in the cloud). Indexing and Storage disk options for the cloud instance could also affect the performance.
- Migration to secondary storage, when Enterprise Vault is hosted within a separate cloud. (disk or tape etc. whether co-located in the cloud or otherwise)
- Mass-retrieval operations (Vault Cache and IMAP local cache creation) from a client could take longer to generate
- Mailbox archiving using MAPI could be slow, it is recommended to use SMTP Journaling
- Consider co-locating Accelerator products for review/production purposes for better performance
- If the infrastructure is hosted in the cloud, it is recommended to have a VPN to a virtual private cloud
eDiscovery Platform
- Processing and Source data Storage should be co-located (or at least all in the cloud). Processing and source Storage disk options for the cloud instance could also affect the performance.
- Collections of data from sources not held within the cloud could be slow depending on bandwidth between your cloud and the data source.
- Performance of Active Directory synchronization or other directory synchronizations could be affected depending on the location of the Global Catalog Server you are synchronizing with.
