Overview:

Veritas™ Access is a software-defined scale-out network-attached storage (NAS) solution for unstructured data that works on commodity hardware. Veritas Access provides resiliency, multi-protocol access, and data movement to and from the public cloud based on policies.

  • Applies to customers running Enterprise Vault 11 and greater.
  • EVExtendedSettings.xml (attached).
Note: This version of EVExtendedSettings.xml is not available for localized versions of the Enterprise Vault Administration Console (VAC). It is only available for the English version.
Note: With the release of Enterprise Vault 12.2, Veritas Access will be available in the VAC without the need of additional configuration.

Perform the following steps on the Enterprise Vault server:

  1. Open Windows Explorer, and then navigate to \Enterprise Vault\InitialConfigurationData\en\Policies.
  2. Make a copy of EVExtendedSettings.xml.
  3. Replace EVExtendedSettings.xml with the version attached to this article.  Click on Download Attachments.
  4. Update the registry value: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\KVS\Enterprise Vault\Admin] "PopulateExtendedSettingTypes"="1".

Warning: Incorrect use of the Windows registry editor may prevent the operating system from functioning properly. Great care should be taken when making changes to a Windows registry. Registry modifications should only be carried-out by persons experienced in the use of the registry editor application. It is recommended that a complete backup of the registry and workstation be made prior to making any registry changes.

  5. Close and then relaunch the VAC.
  6. Navigate to Policies > Exchange.
  7. Right-click Exchange, and then click Populate Setting Types:
