Veritas recommends that you deploy a standalone Classification Server because assigning a Classification Server role to an existing Data Insight node will affect its performance.
A Management Server, Collector, or Collector and Indexer node can be assigned to serve as a Classification Server instead of a designated standalone Classification Server. This indicates that the Data Insight node behaves as a Classification Server. However, the Classification Server role cannot be added to a pure Indexer, Self Service Portal node, and Windows File Server Agent node.
For more information about Classification Server, see the Veritas Data Insight Installation Guide.
To remove Classification Server role from Data Insight server MS or from Collector node
Note: The option to "Add Classification role" under Select Action drop-down on the row corresponding to the server that listed as the Classification Server should not be visible.
3. To remove "Classification Server" role from Data Insight server MS or from Collector node, ensure to select check box next to "Data Insight server MS" or "Collector node" (which ever node's Classification Server role
needs to be removed) and then click on "Assign Classification Server"
4. In the Select Classification Server window, review the information about the configured Classification Servers. Click Select on the row corresponding to the Stand alone Classification Server
(Refer to the figure listed under step#2 to get the "Standalone Classification server name". Only pure Classification Servers are listed on this pop-up.)
5. Click OK on the confirmation message.
6. The Data Insight Management Console should not show Classification server role under Data Insight Management server or Collector node and should be listed for "Standalone Classification server"
Alternatively, delete the mapping with the Classification Server by issuing the following command on the Management Server:
Deleting the assignment of a Classification Server to a Data Insight server
configdb --delete-obj-attr -J vic.server.id -T node -k <NODE_ID of COLLECTOR>
If deleting from a collector node also issue the following command:
configdb.exe --delete-obj-attr -J worker.isvic -T node -k
