To validate a Dtrace can be run against the PublicFolderTask process, which will contain the following:

This issue occurs after the upgrade to Enterprise Vault 12.2.x.

This release introduces a new mechanism for checking and updating the retention categories. It is a result of process called UpdateArchiveFolderRecordV3, which checks and updates the retention category applied to the folder in the instance of a folder rename or move.

This issue has been addressed in the following version available from Downloads:  

Enterprise Vault 12.4.1
