Cause
The cause of this issue is the Enterprise Vault Outlook Add-In is not compatible with the Enterprise Vault server version.
e.g.
The server version information in the EV hidden message is still version 10 but the version of the EV server is 12.
Refer to "Enterprise Vault core dependencies\Enterprise Vault Server support for Add-Ins" in Enterprise Vault Compatibility Charts for the details of the supported combinations of Enterprise Vault Server and Enterprise Vault Add-Ins for email clients.
This can occur when a users mailbox has been migrated to Office 365. The associated hidden message is orphaned due to the . mailbox no longer being targeted by any mailbox archiving task. Therefore, the hidden message is not updated.
Resolution
If there are plans to deploy a hybrid environment (on-premise Exchange servers + Office 365), ensure that a successful EV synchronization has taken place prior to migrating the mailboxes to Office 365.
An alternative solution for the user to access archived items is to use Enterprise Vault Search from an internet browser.
If the issue occurs after mailboxes have been migrated to Office 365, please contact Veritas Support for assistance.
There are currently no plans to address this issue by way of a patch or hotfix in the current or previous versions of the software at the present time. While this issue may be resolved in a future major revision of the software at a later time, it is not currently scheduled for any release. If you feel this issue has a direct business impact for you and your continued use of the product, please contact your Veritas Sales representative or the Veritas Sales group to discuss these concerns.
