Description

Multi-factor authentication (MFA) is an authentication method in which a computer user is granted access only after successfully presenting two or more types of evidence (or factors) to an authentication mechanism: The types of factors may be knowledge (something the user knows), possession (something the user has), or inherence (something the user is).

Two-factor authentication (AKA  2FA) is a subset, of multi-factor authentication (MFA). It is a method of confirming users' identities by using a combination of two different factors: This can be something they know,  something they have or something they are.

Starting with Enterprise Vault 14.1, Single Sign-On is supported for Enterprise Vault Search.

Starting with Enterprise Vault 14.3, Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) is supported for Enterprise Vault Search (Desktop) site using Security Assertion Markup Language (SAML) 2.0 compliant Identity Providers (IdPs) such as Okta and Azure.

NOTE:

Enterprise Vault for Domino does support Domino (SSO) for authentication to the Domino Directory. However, it does not support the use of (MFA) methods. For more information on how to configure Domino (SSO) for use with Enterprise Vault please see the "Setting Up Domino Mailbox Archiving" guide.
