How to migrate Filer Device from one Indexer to another

Solution

In the Data Insight Management Console, click Settings - Inventory - Filers.  Find the desired device, then click Select Action - View [Figure 1]

In the Properties of the Device, click Change Indexer. [Figure 2]

In the Select Indexer screen, note that your existing Indexer has status of Selected under the Action Column.   Click Select under the Action Column on the new Indexer and then click Yes on the popup. [Figure 3]

Click OK on the next popup.  [Figure 4]

Allow some migration process time, this may vary depending on  the number of shares and the amount of data being transfer from the old Indexer to the new Indexer.    

To view the progress, click View Details. [Figure 5]

Repeat above steps for additional devices which need to be migrated.  When migration completes, the New Indexer will be reflected here. [Figure 6]
