Cause

In CA, every Research Folder must be a child of a Department. In DA, a Research Folder may be created under a Case or in the All Research container, which makes it a standalone Research Folder. In order to create, access and use Searches in a Research Folder under a parent Department or Case, the Perform Ad Hoc Searches permission must be granted in the parent Department or Case to the account that is to work with the folder. When this permission is missing from the user's Role assignment(s) in the parent Department or Case, access to the Research Folder will not be available.

Note: In order to create a DA Research Folder under the All Research container, the user must be assigned to an Application Role that includes the Create Research Folder permission. This will allow the user to create a Research Folder under the All Research container and run Searches in that Research Folder, as the user creating the Research Folder will automatically be assigned the Folder Full Control Role.

Resolution

Add the Perform Ad Hoc Searches permission to an existing or a new Role and ensure the Research Folder owner has that Role in the parent CA Department or DA Case.

Issue/Introduction

The owner of a Research Folder is not able to see the properties of the folder in the Compliance Accelerator (CA) or Discovery Accelerator (DA) Client. The Research Folder may also not be visible in the List View pane of the Research tab.
