Cause

This issue is caused by a large number of alpha-numeric extensions being archived from the file server.  This will cause a large number of new file types to be added to the table.  Once the items exceed the 32,767 limit, no new extensions can be added.

Resolution

This issue is fixed in Enterprise Vault 12.4.2, which is available in the Download Center.

Workaround

Contact Veritas Support Services to validate the issue and acquire an updated SQL function to allow for items to be categorized more efficiently.

Issue/Introduction

New entries are not allowed in the Fingerprint database once the FileTypeIdentity value exceeds 32,767 in the FileSpecification table.
