It was observed that CloudInstance.xml was getting updated with the same information when there was no need to update it, this happened multiple times for every cab file download. These frequent updates caused memory corruption and this resulted in the dllhost.exe crashing.
The CloudInstance.xml is an encrypted file that contains configuration information related to the cloud instance and its alias. If the CloudInstance.xml is not present in the target folder on the EV server, then it gets created. The file also gets updated with the latest configuration information, as and when required.
This issue is fixed in Enterprise Vault 12.4.2, which is available in the Download Center. Please go to support.veritas.com to obtain this update.
