Cause

This usually happens if there have been attempts to install multiple addin versions or if the previous version uninstall was unsuccessful.

 

Resolution

Open the registry editor (regedit.exe) and navigate to the following location:

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Installer\Products

Look in each of the GUID keys for one which contains information about the EV add-in  

If present, backup the registry and rename/delete the key . Once renamed/deleted, retry the installation.

Issue/Introduction

Following error is seen when running the Outlook Add-in installer on a client computer. "Version of product detected, Upgrade from existing version of the product is not supported."
