Description

The Microsoft Internet Explorer 11 Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) recommends disabling the permission to run Java applets in IE 11 Internet zones.

The following links provide instructions on how to disable each permission.

DTBI031 - Java Permissions must be disallowed for Internet zone

DTBI121 - Java Permissions must be disallowed for Restricted Sites zone

DTBI425 - Java permissions must be disallowed for Local Machine zone

DTBI430 - Java permissions must be disallowed for Locked Down Local Machine zone

DTBI435 - Java permissions must be disallowed for Locked Down Intranet zone

DTBI440 - Java permissions must be disallowed for Locked Down Trusted Sites zone

DTBI445 - Java permissions must be disallowed for Locked Down Internet zone

DTBI450 - Java permissions must be disallowed for Locked Down Restricted Sites zone

Disabling the permission to run Java applets in these Internet Explorer zones has been found to have no impact on the Veritas eDiscovery Platform (eDP) functionality.

eDP does not utilize Java applets in any of its processes.  JavaScripts are used for client-side page presentation in Microsoft Internet Explorer 11.  JavaScripts are not affected by these permission settings.
