Microsoft Outlook freezes when retrieval of an archived item is attempted. It is then required to kill the Outlook process and re-launch it.
It was found that the presence of certain rules in McAfee designed to prevent CryptoLocker attacks end up blocking the ~EVXXXX.tmp.tmp files created by the EV client add-in under 'C:\Users\%USERNAME%\AppData\Local\Temp\EnterpriseVault' folder.
These temporary files with extension .tmp.tmp are created by the EV client add-in, specifically during retrievalĀ of archived items.
It is recommended to exclude the locationĀ 'C:\Users\%USERNAME%\AppData\Local\Temp\EnterpriseVault' from the offending rule in McAfee AV software.
