This issue can be caused when there is a missing entry in the Enterprise Vault Directory Database for the mailbox folder that is associated with the affected item(s). This can be due a restore of the EnterpriseVaultDirectory database that was backed up prior to the item being archived in the users mailbox.
Missing ArchiveFolder in the EnterpriseVaultDirectory database and be verified by running an EVSVR => Verify => Archives operation. If it is verified that there are missing Archive or Archive Folder entries in the EV Directory database, an EVSVR => Repair => ArchivesDirectory operation can be performed.
For more information regarding EVSR please see the Enterprise Vault Utilities Guide.
NOTE: The EVSVR Repair operation only works for Exchange Mailbox and File System Archives. If experiencing the issue with any other type of archive please call technical support.
NOTE: Before running any EVSVR Repair operations always back up the EV Related SQL databases.
