Cause
The message types currently known to be affected by this issue are Bloomberg, Instant Messages and Faxes. SMTP and Social items are exported properly with the EML file extension.
Resolution
This issue has been resolved in the following release:
Enterprise Vault 12.5.2
https://www.veritas.com/support/en_US/downloads/update.UPD334575
Issue/Introduction
Certain items that are archived into Enterprise Vault (EV) through SMTP Archiving and stored in SMTP archives are archived as EML files but Discovery Accelerator (DA) exports them as MSG files. This causes opening these files to throw a warning with the file name showing the EML extension and requires clicking on the OK button to open in Outlook.
