When messages are previewed in the Review Set in Enterprise Vault (EV) Compliance Accelerator (CA) or Discovery Accelerator (DA), the default behaviour is to display the author and recipient information as display names. If the display names are not available, then email addresses are displayed. If there is a business need to display email addresses instead of display names, a hidden Configuration Setting can be edited to fulfill this need.
Here are the steps to display email addresses instead of display names:
1. Set the 'ECM Temporary storage area' setting to a location that is not the Windows Temp folder:
1.1. Open the Accelerator Client with an account assigned to a Role that is allowed to edit the Configuration Settings, such as the Vault Service Account.
1.2. Go to Configuration | Settings.
1.3. Hold down the CTRL key and click on the Configuration Settings banner at the top left of the window. This will display all hidden Configuration Settings (highlighted in grey).
1.4. Expand Reviewing and locate the ECM Temporary storage area Setting.
1.5. If the Value for this Setting is blank (default), create a folder using Windows Explorer on the Accelerator Server and edit the Value to that folder's location.
1.6. If the Value for this Setting is not blank:
1.6.1. If the location listed is the Windows Temp folder location, create a folder using Windows Explorer on the Accelerator Server and edit the Value to that folder's location.
1.6.2. If the location listed is not the Windows Temp folder location, clear the contents of this location using Windows Explorer.
2. Enable the 'Show email address instead of Display Name' hidden Setting:
2.1. Whilst still in the Accelerator Client under Configuration | Settings, expand API and locate the Show email address instead of Display Name Setting. If this Setting is not visible, hold down the CTRL key and click on the Configuration Settings banner at the top left of the window to display the hidden Settings.
2.2. Click on the empty space under Value to enable the setting. A check mark will appear when the Setting is enabled.
3. Save the changes:
3.1. Click on Save in the Accelerator Client Under Configuration | Settings.
3.2. Acknowledge any prompts to restart Remoteing, Background Tasks or the Enterprise Vault Accelerator Manager Service.
3.3. Close the Accelerator Client.
4. Restart the Enterprise Vault Accelerator Manager Service from the Windows Services management console.
5. Open the Accelerator Client and Review messages.
Notes
1. The ECM Temporary storage area location should be excluded from any antivirus scanning.
2. For best performance, the ECM Temporary storage area location should be located on a fast drive that is not the system drive (containing the operating system).
Here are the steps to revert to the default of showing the display names:
1. Disable the 'Show email address instead of Display Name' hidden Setting:
This will display all hidden Configuration Settings (highlighted in grey).
uk1.4. Expand API and locate the Show email address instead of Display Name Setting.
1.5. Click on the check mark under Value to clear the mark and disable the setting. The check mark will disappear when the Setting is disabled.
2. Clear the 'ECM Temporary storage area' location:
2.1. Whilst still in the Accelerator Client under Configuration | Settings, expand Review and locate the ECM Temporary storage area Setting.
2.2. Note the location listed under Value.
2.3. Clear the contents of this location using Windows Explorer.
