Functionality of Scheduled Appliance backup is accomplished with the help of schedulednodebackup.pl script. Part of the script has command to identify whether services are down to proceed with backup activity.
Due to failure in identifying service shutdown within default timeout and retry attempts, the scheduler is unable to complete the rest of the command sequence within that script. This results in backup failure as well as service startup.
This issue has been fixed with Veritas eDiscovery Platform v9.5.1.
