Problem

Enterprise Vault Mac Client may not retrieve archived emails when Enterprise Vault has “http” protocol set for the Web Access application in the Site properties.

Cause

Mac’s App Transport Security policy requires the use of a secure connection. When Enterprise Vault Web Access application is configured with the “http: protocol, the policy violation occurs, and the item retrieval fails.

Solution

Perform the following steps to make Enterprise Vault Mac Client retrieve archived emails: 

  1. Go to the Enterprise Vault server and open Vault Administration Console.
  2. Set Web Access application to use “https” protocol in the EV Site properties.
  3. Synchronize the mailboxes using the Exchange Mailbox Archiving Task.
  4. Go to the Mac system and quit “Enterprise Vault” application using Activity Monitor.
  5. Delete the desktop settings, ClientConfigurations.plist from the “/Users//Library/Application Support/Enterprise Vault/Settings/” folder.
  6. Relogin to the Mac Client.
  7. Try to retrieve the archived email.
