Error = 12030 - The connection with the server was terminated abnormally

Cause

This has been observed where the ECS Streamer Driver was 2.0.1.5, which is significantly dated, communicating to ECS version 3.5.0.2.

Resolution

Upgrading the ECS Streamer Driver to the latest version corrects this. As of November 6, 2020, version 2.0.6.21 allows the test connectivity to pass immediately. While upgrading the streamer driver, stop and disable all EV services as multiple server reboots may be required. Once the upgrade is complete, set the services to Automatic and start them.

Issue/Introduction

Testing connectivity on a Dell EMC ECS partition takes considerable time to complete, sometimes up to one hour. Archived items successfully are written and read from storage while the test outcome is pending.
