Error Message
Error in Microsoft Outlook when attempting to preview an item:
For the DA 12.5.2 release: This file cannot be previewed because there is no previewer installed for it.
For the DA 14.0 release: We can't open {patch to file}. It's possible the file is already open, or you don't have permission to open it. To check your permissions, right-click the file folder, then click Properties.
Also for the DA 14.0 release: Microsoft Outlook has stopped working A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available.
Cause
The issue is caused by the wrong file extension being added to the exported items. For Exchange Journal archived MSG files, they are exported with the EML extension. Likewise, SMTP archived EML files are exported with the MSG file extension. Both of these are affected by the use of the 'Convert EML to MSG' option.

This issue has been resolved in the following releases:

Issue/Introduction
Bloomberg (BB) and Instant Messenger (IM) type items that are archived into an Exchange Journal archive are exported by Enterprise Vault (EV) Discovery Accelerator (DA) with the EML extension instead of the expected MSG extension. The same item types archived into an SMTP Journal archive are exported with the MSG file extension instead of the expected EML extension. This behavior can be observed in the DA 12.5.2 release when the 'Convert EML to MSG' option is selected. This behavior can be observed in the DA 14.0 release with and without the 'Convert EML to MSG' option selected.
