Scan terminated because the total paths that could not be scanned exceeds configured max_err limit:5000 Files scanned:14947, Folders scanned 928, Avg Throughput: 2989 files per minute, 185 folder minute
The error occurs when Data Insight aborts scanning when the total number of scanning errors exceeds the configured limit. By default this value is 5000
To determine the specific errors that caused failure check the Scan Errors for the share:
In the UI, Settings - Inventory - Filers -
Use the Select Action drop down for the share, select Scan Status
In the Scan Status window, select Scan Errors

Note the paths and causes of failure
The first step is resolve the specific Scan Errors on the share
In the example above, there are two paths that the scan account cannot access
Permissions on those two paths need to be resolved so the scan account has at least read access to scan
Once the errors that can be resolved are corrected and you still receive this error, you can increase the scan error limit as follows:
