Event ID 574 is logged on the Discovery Accelerator (DA) server with the below text:

Discovery Accelerator has identified some cases in which it could not apply legal hold to certain items. It will make repeated attempts to apply legal hold to these items.

Cause

This has been observed while placing legal holds when the Enterprise Vault (EV) server is in backup mode.

Resolution

  1. On the EV server, clear backup mode from all Vault Stores and Index Locations
  2. Using the DA client, uncheck "Put items on hold" and save the case properties.
  3. Refresh the case until all holds have been released.
  4. Check the "Put Items on hold" checkbox and save the case.

All items should then be placed on legal hold

Issue/Introduction

When applying legal holds, the case properties indicate a non-zero value in the "Number of errors" section.
