Virtual Directory error RPC server is unavailable.
A spelling mistake of the NetBIOS name of the new CA server will cause this error. Accessing the EVBAAdmin website will show 2 or more CA servers listed, one or more with correct the correct NetBIOS name of the CA server(s) and at least one with a misspelled NetBIOS CA server name.
1.Note all of the properties of the CA Customer that was moved and where the issue is occurring as these properties will be needed below. The data needed are:
1.1. The CA Customer name located in the 'Name:' field.
1.2. The 'VaultID(s):' field contents, if any exist.
1.3. The 'Directory DNS alias:' field contents.
1.3. The 'Virtual Directory:' field contents.
1.4. The 'IIS Server:' field contents which should be the name of the actual CA server.
1.5. The 'SQL Server:' field contents.
1.6. The 'Database:' field contents which should be the actual customer database name.
2. Remove the customer from incorrect CA server listed.
2.1. Right click on the Customer in the left panel.
2.2. Select the 'Remove Customer' option.
3. Then remove the misspelled CA server.
3.1. Right click on the misspelled CA Server in the left panel.
3.2. Select the 'Remove Server' option.
4. Add the customer to the correct CA server.
4.1. Right click on the correct CA Server name in the left panel.
4.2. Select the 'New Customer' option.
4.3. Populate the field in the new customer pane using the data noted in Step 1.
4.4. Put a check mark in the check box 'Use Existing Database:' option.
4.5. Click the OK button to create the customer. Note that this will populate the 'DSN:' field automatically so this field can be left blank when populating the fields.
5. Run the "Check Virtual Directory" which will successfully create the directory in IIS.
5.1. Right click on the CA Customer in the left panel.
5.2. Select the 'Check Virtual Directory' option. When successful, this will open a text box labeled 'Message from webpage' with the contents likeCustomer: CACustomer02

5.3. Click the OK button to close the text box.
6. Open a CA client and insure functionality.
After following Article 100038659 to move Compliance Accelerator (CA) to a new server and then attempting to open the EVBAAdmin site to perform the "Check Virtual Directory" activity, the error message "Virtual Directory error RPC server is unavailable" is returned.
