How to move the Index location to a different location on the same server

Overview

There may be an instance where indexes will need to be moved to a different location on the same server.

Resolution

1. Back up the SQL databases and the Enterprise Vault server.
2. Stop the Enterprise Vault Indexing Service on the Enterprise Vault server.
3. Copy the contents of the index location from the old to the new location.
   Note: Create the new Index location prior to copying the content. 
4. From the Enterprise Vault Administration console, configure the new Index location on Enterprise Vault Indexing Service properties.
   
5. Start the Enterprise Vault Indexing Service.
