Cause

OData Reporting requires the use of certain dynamic link library (DLL) files to access the OData Reporting engine and process the OData datasets. These DLL files provide certain features and functions, and are also known as dependent assemblies or referenced assemblies. The features/functions provided by the DLL files along with the DLL file versions are listed in the web.config configuration file located in the OData Reporting folder under the CA or DA installation folder, also referred to as a manifest file. This location is typically \Program Files (x86)\Enterprise Vault Business Accelerator\CAReporting\ for CA or \Program Files (x86)\Enterprise Vault Business Accelerator\DAReporting\ for DA. Each feature/function or assembly is listed under its own assemblyIdentity key and is cross-referenced, or bound to, a specific DLL version.

The error is logged when there is a miss-match between the versions listed in the web.config file and the versions of the DLL files that are actually in use, i.e., when there is a miss-match in assembly bindings.

Resolution

Please contact technical support to correct the versions listed in the web.config file. Once the versions have been corrected, the OData URLs can be retried.

Note on OData URLs:

An OData URL or query consists of a Service Root, Resource Path and Query Options. The Service Root is not case sensitive. The Resource Path and Query Options are case sensitive. Syntax examples are available in the Help file (http://server_name/CAReporting or http://server_name/DAReporting).

CA Example:
Service Root                                                         Resource Path                               Query Options
http://server_name/CAReporting/OData    /Departments(customerID=1)    ?$top=10

DA Example:
Service Root                                                         Resource Path                   Query Options
http://server_name/DAReporting/OData    /Cases(customerID=1)    ?$top=10

Issue/Introduction

Attempting to access the Enterprise Vault (EV) Compliance Accelerator (CA) or Discovery Accelerator (DA) OData Report web addresses or uniform resource locators (URLs) after upgrading to CA/DA 14.1.x or 14.2.x results in the error(s) below. The error is seen when accessing the OData Help file, at http://server_name/CAReporting or http://server_name/DAReporting as applicable, or when accessing any of the OData reports or datasets.
