File System Archived items list incorrect file sizes in Discovery Accelerator Preview

Cause

The issue is caused by a difference in the way EV provides size information for non-FSA items and for FSA items. The FSA item size was being provided by EV in kilobytes whereas DA was expecting the size in bytes, as message sizes and their attachment sizes are provided by EV in bytes. The size calculations for FSA items in DA have now been edited to account for this difference.

 

Resolution

There are no plans to address this issue by way of a patch or hotfix in earlier versions of the software at the present time. However, the issue has been addressed in the revision of the product specified at the end of this article.

Issue/Introduction

When items that were Archived by Enterprise Vault (EV) File System Archiving (FSA) are Previewed in the Discovery Accelerator (DA) Review Set, the items' file sizes in KB are listed next to the file name in the Reading Pane. However, if the Hidden Reviewing Configuration Setting 'Use the ECM API for item retrieval' is disabled, the file sizes appears to list the size in MB, not KB, however, the legend still shows KB.
