Description

Error Message

No error message is present.

Cause

Certain non-alphanumeric special characters are treated differently by EV Indexing and are indexed as periods (.). The Search will take such characters into account and will also process them in the same manner as EV Indexing. Therefore, it is expected the items containing the CJK characters and special characters will be found as hits. However, the hit highlighting and Hotword Analysis processing does not parse non-alphanumeric special characters correctly, resulting in unexpected hit highlighting and/or Hotword Analysis.

Issue/Introduction

Running an Enterprise Vault (EV) Compliance Accelerator (CA) Search using Chinese, Japanese or Korean (CJK) characters can sometimes return unexpected hits when there are non-alphanumeric special characters separating the CJK characters in the items being searched. Examples of such non-alphanumeric special characters include the at symbol (@), underscore (_), ampersand (&) and tilde (~). Such hits may not have the Search characters highlighted and/or may not include any Hotword Analysis.
