This behaviour is as designed in order to keep the Client graphical user interface (GUI) presentable with regards to long Search names. However, this behaviour does limit identifying Searches whose names are longer than 30 characters where the first 30 characters of the name may be the same. For example, a Scheduled Search with the name:
NAM Human Resources East Daily Scheduled Search
Could have the 1st run listed as:
NAM Human Resources East Daily (1)
If the Search was an Application Scheduled Search, the 20th run in a Department could be listed as:
NAM Human Resources East Daily (20 - App)
The only current workaround is to verify the first 30 characters of a Search name are unique when creating a Search, especially when creating Scheduled Searches or Guaranteed Sample Searches (CA).

Enterprise Vault (EV) Compliance Accelerator (CA) and Discovery Accelerator (DA) allow Search names to be entered with a maximum length of 100 characters. Search names that contain more than 30 characters may appear truncated when viewed in the CA/DA Client in the Review tab under the Search Filter, Searches tab in a Case (DA only), Department (CA only) or Research Folder, Monitor tab and Application tab (CA only). If the Search is an Immediate Search, its name is truncated to 50 characters. If the Search is a Scheduled Search or a Guaranteed Sample Search (CA only), the Search name is further truncated to 30 characters with certain information appended to the truncated Search name to indicate the sequence number of the Scheduled Search run or Guaranteed Sample Search (CA only) run. Additionally, if the Scheduled Search or Guaranteed Sample Search was created in CA as an Application Search, i.e. under Application | Searches to allow the Search to run in one or more Departments, the Search name will also have the term 'App' appended to indicate the Search was created at the Application level. The full Search name is visible when double-clicking the Search (if Immediate Search) or the Search run (if Scheduled or Guaranteed Sample Search) to view its Criteria in the Searches tab of a DA Case or Research Folder, or CA Department or Research Folder.
